Grand Island Entertainer's Kitchen
An oversized island anchors this open-plan space made for hosting.
Design direction
A large open-plan kitchen built around a single oversized island. The cabinetry is deliberately quiet — high-gloss slab doors with no visible hardware on the island — so the room reads as one continuous surface rather than a series of boxes.
Materials and finishes
High-gloss slab cabinetry in graphite on the island and tall bank, with paler grey gloss uppers. Countertops and backsplash are a white stone with soft grey veining, run as full slabs so the pattern carries unbroken behind the cooktop. Light maple flooring keeps the palette from turning cold.
Layout and function
The island carries the sink and cooktop together, leaving the perimeter run clear for prep and staging — the arrangement you want when several people are working at once. A stacked wall oven and microwave sit in the tall bank, out of the main traffic path. Three cage pendants mark the island without blocking sightlines across the room.
