Graphite Shaker Kitchen

Floor-to-ceiling graphite shaker cabinetry with a patterned mosaic backsplash.

Design direction

A floor-to-ceiling cabinetry wall in deep graphite, treated as a piece of furniture rather than storage. Running the doors all the way to the crown removes the dust ledge and makes a modest wall feel architectural.

Materials and finishes

Graphite shaker doors and drawers with copper knobs and bar pulls — an unusual pairing that reads warmer than the brass or black most dark kitchens default to. A near-black counter continues the depth of colour, set against a black-and-white geometric tile backsplash that supplies the only pattern in the room. Pale wood flooring keeps it from closing in.

Layout and function

Deep drawers below, full-height cupboards above, and an uninterrupted stretch of counter between them. It is a serving and staging run — the kind of secondary workspace that keeps small appliances and prep off the main kitchen counters.
