High-contrast remodel: bright white cabinetry against a dramatic black feature wall.
Design direction
A high-contrast scheme that gets its drama from one move: a black backsplash running the full length of the working wall, against otherwise bright white cabinetry. Everything else is kept deliberately plain so that band does the work.
Materials and finishes
White slab cabinetry, handleless above and simple below, with a white stone island top. The backsplash is a stacked linear tile in black with a slight sheen, so it catches light rather than reading flat. Dark hardwood flooring anchors the palette, and two black dome pendants and black swivel stools repeat the accent colour.
Layout and function
An L-shaped run with the range and microwave on the back wall and the sink on the return, leaving the island entirely free for seating and serving. Uppers run to the ceiling for storage in what is a compact footprint.
